August is the perfect time to visit Stanthorpe. Jodie and I spent a week there in 1996. This is a shot of the inside of a place we stayed at called "Quart Pot Cottage" . A renovated church with an open plan interior and slow combustion stove (which does the trick) located right in town is perfect for small groups.

Here we are cold and wet in the middle of 2 hour ride with the guys at Red Gum Ridge Horse Rides . We did intend on doing a half day ride to a winery, but the heavens opened up the minute we got to Stanthorpe and did'nt let up until we left. It did give us a chance to hang around the fireplace at home.
